Product Overview
The Ersa SCAVENGER (SC 550) is a non-contact residual solder removal module designed specifically for the Ersa HR 550 and HR 550 XL rework systems. After a component has been desoldered and removed, excess solder remains on the PCB pads — the SCAVENGER extracts this residual solder without any physical contact to the board, protecting delicate pad structures and ensuring clean surfaces for replacement component placement.
At the core of the system is a high-quality 400W hot gas/vacuum cartridge housed in the extraction head. The hot gas reflows the residual solder while the integrated vacuum simultaneously removes it into a spacious collection container. A process gas cleaning system ensures consistent extraction performance over extended use.
The SCAVENGER is fully integrated into the HRSoft 2 operating software, allowing automated process sequencing alongside manual operating elements for direct operator control. Its antistatic design ensures safe handling of ESD-sensitive assemblies. The module is compatible with all common SMD pad formats and can be ordered together with a new HR 550 system or retrofitted to existing installations at any time.
